SMS donation

Finally, donation thru SMS has come. (Yeah, it came early, I just managed to write about it only now :P)

For 013/019 subscribers, you can simply SMS "DERMA" and send to 33699. Every SMS charged RM5.

For Digi subscribers, you can make your donations via SMS in the following denominations: RM3, RM5 and RM10. (Cool huh?)

Step #1
Go to your message menu and key in [amount of donation].

Step #2

Send it to 1996.

Uh, there are also a few notes.
# for prepaid customers, the amount donated will be deducted from your talktime credit
# for postpaid customers, the amount donated will be charged into your monthly bill
# the normal SMS charge of RM0.15 still applies, but will be channeled as part of the donation <<--- great :))

Aye, I almost forgot about Maxis. Yep, Maxis subscribers can also do the same now :)

Maxis wishes to convey its condolences and deepest sympathy to those affected by the recent disaster.

In these difficult times, we have extended a helping hand to those in need, and we believe there are many other generous Malaysians who would like to do the same.

Maxis has set up a special SMS account for the convenience of our customers who wish to donate to the Malaysian Tsunami Disaster Fund set up by New Straits Times, Berita Harian, TV3 and 8TV.

From 9am on 1 January 2005 until 31 January 2005, Maxis subscribers can make a donation by sending an SMS with the words "Donate" or "Derma" to 22999.

For every SMS sent, subscribers will be charged RM1, which will be forwarded to the New Straits Times. There is no limit on the number of SMS which can be sent.

Maxis customers who require more information on making SMS donations can call our customer service consultants at 03-7492 2123 or dial 123 from their mobile phones.
